NTAAA was initiated in 2018 by local businessman Mark Burgess of Sudbury. Mark’s interest in starting NTAAA is based on his family’s long-time ownership of the OHL Sudbury Wolves Hockey Club as well as their 25-year ownership of BK CORPORATE MARKETING SERVICES – an outdoor and arena advertising company that served Northeastern Ontario markets including Sudbury, Sault, North Bay and Timmins.
After selling the above businesses in 2016, Burgess was quick to set-up NTAAA when the new owners of BK decided not to bid on the Sault Ste Marie Transit Advertising contract. Burgess then added the North Bay market in the Spring of 2019 when BK departed that marketplace as well. In the fall of 2019, Burgess bid and won the rights to sell advertising in 15 community arenas in Greater Sudbury.
Former Sudbury Wolves/BK long-time employee Blaine Smith was re-hired by Burgess in August of 2019 to head-up NTAAA along with the Rayside Balfour Canadians Jr. A hockey team which Burgess as asked to purchase by the NOJHL in June of 2019. The Canadians play in the NOJHL and their home arena is located in Chelmsford. In their first season, the Canadians won the Western Division Conference championship with a priority on local hockey players. The organization also set its sights on raising money for local charities and raised $10,000 for the NOFCC – Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer from their first-ever SUPER MARIO themed jersey promotion in 2020.
In January of 2020, NTAAA struck an Agency agreement with Laurentian University Varsity Sports. The Varsity program at Laurentian includes 22 teams including Men’s and Women’s Hockey, Basketball and Soccer teams. NTAAA’s role is to form a connection with local, regional and national businesses with Laurentian’s varsity teams and student athletes.
Finally, NTAAA recently struck a partnership with PETRYNA ADVERTISING GROUP and offers digital billboard advertising at a number of locations around Greater Sudbury including a 20’ x 10’ double-sided sign on the KINGSWAY and at the SOUTH-END four-corners location.
As the global pandemic negatively affects the advertising and sports industry, NTAAA continues to look for implement new products and services for their valued corporate customers.
NTAAA will support all of their advertising and client representation agreements with Proof of Performance Reports, advertising photos and more in order to insure client satisfaction, delivery of assets and results.
